The last component I didn’t really look into (although I’m kinda having second thoughts about that) is the new authentication generators. I wanted to do things like hook into Omniauth for “Login with Google”, add token auth for local testing with curl and there’s just way more guides and documentation available with Devise. Plus it was just easier for me to pick back up again, so that’s what I started with and I’m pretty happy with it.
